1d-Online Servers maintains connections to 3 of the major global backbone providers. We connect to the North American Internet backbone via 100Mbps ethernet link (equivalant to more than 2 full T3's) directly to the UUNet global backbone, and maintain similar high-speed connections to Teleglobe and AT&T, all of which are connected to a 100Mbs etherswitched network. This kind of network architecture creates a flow of data split across multiple backbones so that when problems occur upstream data is re-routed automatically so that traffic is redistributed across the backbone with a speed that makes upstream problems unnoticeable.
